Pete Speaks: Why Go Solar?

There are a lot of reasons for you to explore “going solar” now. For starters, solar energy is environmentally sound. It’s quiet and pollution free. Commercial solar systems can also be purchased for purely economic reasons, however.

How you save money & the environment:

Solar energy can supplement up to 50% of the energy your facility requires to run. This will substantially reduce your annual energy bill. Plus, in Colorado, installing a solar electric system may qualify you for Renewable Energy Credits as well as rebates and tax credits that could cover most of the initial cost of a solar electric system. And, would you believe the electricity produced by a solar roof system can actually make money for you as excess energy can be sold back to the power company? Finally, it has been estimated that a property’s value is increased by $20,000 for every $1000 in operating costs reduced each year through energy efficiency.

How it works:

A solar electric system integrates seamlessly with your existing systems. Panels are installed on your roof or in an open area including parking lots. Once exposed to the sun, they will produce power for all electrical devices whether it’s sunny, cloudy, day or night.

So the question becomes: Why not go solar? It’s a simple installation with many benefits.

Benefits of Solar:

  • Reduces operating costs
  • Hedges against rising energy prices
  • Helps achieve a LEED® rating for your new building
  • Reduces your company’s carbon footprint
  • Distinguishes your business as a community leader
